I took a short break, with all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, from the discussion group I had begun late last year inspired by the writing of Elizabeth Gilbert’s book, “Eat, Pray, Love”. I had watched Gilbert on the Oprah show and was struck by observations she presented as she was interviewed. I thought about her question, “What do you really, really, really want?” and the power of putting these thoughts on paper (virtual or otherwise) to start to actualize them. To advance this, I chose to share my thoughts with others in Second Life, and by further extension, through my blog here.
There have been some emotional breakdowns and breakthroughs for some and keen reflections by others. Everyone brings their own experiences and thoughts and the discussions can, at times, become quite lively which is invigorating and satisfying. I always leave with more to think about.
If you are in Second Life, please come by on Fridays at noon (second life time which parallels Pacific time) in the Shaolin Temple Roof Garden. All are welcome. You can also read the discussion notes handed out each week in my blog page here. Feel free to add your comments. I would love to hear what you think.
