what grows from the heart: oxfam and the jewelry fair

Several pieces at the jewelry fair will benefit Oxfam.

Several pieces at the jewelry fair will benefit Oxfam.

The JEWELRY FAIR starts tomorrow, September 18th, 2009, and everyone is in high gear getting their beauteous goods into their booths. Never has Second Life seen so many scurry over two sims so fast, but those nano prims are flying and all to make you beautiful and many to benefit Oxfam International, the fair’s choice of charity.

Booth No. 7 in the Spring section of the maze at the Jewelry Fair

Booth No. 7 in the Spring section of the maze at the Jewelry Fair

TAMA can be found at Booth 7 in the Spring section of the four-season maze that hopes to evoke the theme of the fair, THE SECRET GARDEN. TAMA has several selections that are premiering as well as favorites from past seasons. We hope to see you all there and wish everyone a fruitful and glorious fair and that Oxfam will benefit from everyone’s generosity.

The fair runs through September 27th and to keep your philanthropic spirit alive, there will also be kissing booths (PUCKER UP!) and dunk booths (SLIDE’R HOME!).

jewelry fair coming: tama jewels premiering

Jewelry-Fair-Sign-2009It’s that time again…when baubles and bangles shine bright and gather in delicious formation all for the love of ornament and making us feel pretty….and raising a few lindens for a worthy cause. This year that cause is OXFAM and I will shortly show at least one special piece that I’ve made (will make a second if I have time).
TJ-004-Elidi
TJ-002-Cymbeline
TJ-003-Lunea
TJ-001-Lorelei

I have several pieces premiering at the show of which I am very excited and will show them the first few I’ve completed and add a slideshow of what I’ll be offering shortly before the show.

It is always wonderful and satisfying to review one’s previous work and be able to see growth both in design and execution. Second Life is always a learning process for me as I grow in building skills, especially with the introduction of better sculpting tools both inworld (Sculpt Studio) and my 3D program offworld, Luxology’s Modo. I have been teaching a lot in SL and this always spurs me on to develop my craft in order to help my students excel which in turn boosts me as well.

SoCool Destiny has a set of scripts at XStreet which have allowed me to offer my customers a wider range of things they can have within the scope of a single product. I thank him for all his assistance and always being kind enough to help me troubleshoot (operative word being “user-error”…heh) and add more and better features.

The first four completed sets show off these new features, which I am calling “Vari•Set” and give a good taste of the stylings I am offering this season.

As soon as I have landmarks and other information, I will post them. I hope to see you all there.

TAMA Motors in RocknRoll

VROOOOMMM!

TAMA and Tiny TAMA have added Motorcycles and motorcycle parts to their product lines.  We have a brand-spanking-new store to display our wares which I based on the design of the old Sinclair Gas Stations.  The nifty shapes seemed perfect when I kept the garage open and added more window space to the parts side.  Fox has sculpted the cool neon signs for our TAMA Motors that reads on the four faces of the tower above the store.  Along with oil can displays, and those great fuel pumps from that same era, it’s a great way to show what’s new and hot at TAMA Motors.

Right outside the store is a joiner for the TAMA Motor Group. No worries; it doesn’t take up one of your SL group slots. There is also a rezzer for you to try out one of the bikes while on the RocknRoll sim. Lots of great places to see and shop and a drag strip to test your skills!

So what happened to The Oh! Factor, you say?  Well, Fox and I have been doing business together for some time and it just seemed logical to fold in The Oh! Factor to keep the TAMA brand fresh with its products for regular-sized avatars and continue to grow Tiny TAMA for the knee-high tinies.

I know I haven’t put out clothes for the regular folk for some time now, but that’s soon changing.  I have some outfits that never made it out due to time and so many other constraints, so those will finally see the light of day (unless you like to set to midnight, of course).  In addition, there are some great new leather outfits coming that will be usable by the biker crowd, but will have available accessories to make them keen wear in the fantasy and RPG worlds.

We have motorcycle parts, in full-perm versions, and other items coming including some stunningly beautiful bikes chock full of sculpted details.  We take suggestions and several parts have come from customer requests already. The SEDUCER is the first on the market, with superb handling and many touches seldom or never seen in SL.  Ladies, we kept you in mind with our EN version of the Seducer.  Plus 2 Biker-sized versions are included as well.  All for the single price of 2200$L. Can’t wait to show you the new ones coming up!

Now, lest we forget the tinies…..NOT!…the tiny version has many of the fine features of her larger sisters, but with reworked handles to accomodate those tiny arms.  This is a high-calibre machine for a tiny with taking-on-the-road in mind.  Priced at 1795$L.

We even have a ridable toy-sized version that you have to see to discover just how much fun it can be!  We call this the Big to Tiny, or B2T version, and it comes in at 1500$L.

BUT WAIT, there’s more!  Ok, regular-sized and tinies-sized come, boxed, with all four bikes (one tiny and three regular-sized) for .  The regular-sized and B2T version are packaged at.  And finally, all three (well, really five total) give you a WHOPPING SAVINGS with a price of only 3999$L.

So come on down and see our new store where we are always FULL SERVICE WITH A SMILE!

the wild, wild tiny west

The Good

April is Western month at Raglan!  The tumbleweeds and cactus had been encroaching, but they are firmly ensconced for the month and mercantiles and wagons are cropping up everywhere.  OMG, and the language!  ”Pardner” and “varmint” are being slung around like cow-paddies….everywhere!  The Good, the Bad and the-just-plains-tinies are all getting fancy duds and loud guns.

Well, Tiny TAMA is getting ready for all of the tinies, too.  Two new releases are in the vendors at Western town, Tiny TAMA and our Wilcutt store in Tiny Outpost.

The Man With No Name is a beautiful sculpted set.  From head to sculpted toe, you too can walk with confidence, strapped down with your sculpted navy colt, scripted to shoot with a dialog menu.  Bullets are set to no damage and firing triggers the muzzle flash and blast.  Signature sculpted poncho can be removed to reveal your oh-so-hombre -duds featuring The Man with No Name’s sheepskin vest and jeans , sculpted sleeves and boots with spurs.  These fully sculpted legs replace your tiny prim legs for that western silhouette you crave.  Your look is finished off with a sculpted cigarillo hanging from your tiny lips and a well-worn sculpted hat on top of your tiny head.  Available as mod/copy at 295$L.

Sharps Rifle

Our sculpted Sharps Rifle comes with two gestures to aim and put your weapon down.  Clicking on the barrel fires off a long-echoing rifle blast.  Available as mod/copy at 200$L.

Watch for more as the month advances.

jaffas and easter egg hunts, oh my!

mm-tinytama030109We premiered the Tiny Horus Jaffa this week at Tiny TAMA.  This is an exquisite set with a sculpted helmet that animates down.  The texturing is quite beautiful on it and the more egyptian style outfit to go with it that is more in keeping with the Stargate film.  The standard version (300L$) has a deathglider in black.  The ELITE version (400L$) gives you a deathglider that has folding wings, weapons that fire and a hud to control it.

tt-5031-elite-horus-jaffa-kitten-t-copy

We continue to create for the Tiny Stargate line, but have been asked about the biggies and so stay tuned for human-sized pieces coming soon.

Easter is coming up and the venerable Easter Egg Hunt is being given some great ways to entertain at your festivities or events with the Easter version of our great game line in conjunction with AeonVox.  The Easter Egg Hunt Game comes with wonderfully sculpted game pieces.  An old-fashioned sugar crystal egg decorated with flowers revealing a pastoral scene where Peter Rabbit appears and disappears.  Guests click on the flower cover to reveal whether they win a prize by spying Peter.  And then there are five decorated eggs to hide in two different ways.

tt-908-easter-egg-hunt-game-t

Both of these items can be found at both Tiny TAMA and The Oh! Factor stores.

We’ve also just opened a new Tiny TAMA store at Tiny Outpost in Wilcutt. Come down and see us!

enkystore_001

Also for those of you who have or have been thinking of getting Sculpt Studio, I’m teaching classes on it. I teach at Mystical Mastery and will have a beginner’s class there this week as well Raglan U! New class coming soon on custom slices!  BTW, most of the store at Wilcutt was sculpted using Sculpt Studio.

games, faeries and a tiny night on the town

tt-160-skull-n-bones-game

Sometime ago, I asked a good friend of mine, Kenn Nilsson, if he could create a script for me to do some games at Tiny TAMA.  The game was incredibly fun and the tinies had a blast.  Kenn created the script to allow for creativity and variety.  The first time we played the game, we used an image of our ninja and hid it.  Now most things are physical pieces that you hide in a few different places.  The person finds it and claims their prize.  This game allowed the one gamepiece to rez in different locations, that I had designated beforehand, for varying times (3-5 seconds).  This meant everyone was searching everywhere for the next place it would pop up and try to be fast enough to click on it before it disappeared and went to its next location.  Each round gave a prize.

The second time we had a tiny sarcophagus with a fox mummy.  The tinies walked up, one by one, and touched the sarcophagus.  If the mummy was there, they had to click quickly because it, too, could possibly disappear before they did so.  Again, the game was a hit.

So Tiny TAMA and AeonVox have teamed up and have brought out the first game now available to the public.  The Skull ‘n’ Bones Treasure Hunt Game has three sculpted game pieces.  The skull ‘n’ bones is for hiding in smaller spaces (under bushes, behind things).  There is a chest filled with gold that can also be hidden.  Both of these items can be used to be stationary and be found by the guest or can be configured (through notecard) to appear and disappear for different intervals.  It can appear/disappear in the same spot or in different locations; much like the Ninja game we did.  The second chest is for a game like the mummy game described above.  The gold inside it appears and disappears.  Your guests click the chest to open it and see if they are quick enough to win.

The prize distribution has a number of alternatives to choose from.  Give one prize or a prize endlessly till you stop the game.  Give from a list of prizes, randomly, or give several prizes all at once.  You choose.  And look for more themed games coming soon!

mm-tinytama011109-512

Next, we have the first Spring Rose Fairy of the season.  Winter is ebbing and the flower faeries are making an appearance.  This little fairy has a beautiful, hand-painted gown with sweet ballet slippers.  She wears a trio of  sculpted roses on her head and has a sweet pair of rose petal wings.  The wings fluttter slowly when standing, a bit faster when walking, and beat at a sweet speed when flying.  In addition, when the fairy moves or flies, she leaves a trail of falling fairy dust.  Also, as a bonus, a flying/hovering animation is included with instructions on how you can add it to your Tinymatic AO or AO Lite.  This animation (by Japanese artist, asakouboo Yoshikawa) is SO cute!  On sale for 350L at Tiny TAMA.

Beautiful color-changing tiny evening gown.

Beautiful color-changing tiny evening gown.

And then there is Bella Notte.  An off-shoulder tiny gown scripted to change to just about any color.  It is also scripted to change size to accomodate different avatars.  A sculpted, stylized rose graces the shoulder and head.  A tiny scattering of custom particle stars falls from the head piece.

Coming up in Raglan, on the first of February and going through Valentine’s Day, we’re having another walk-through-the-shires to see the great merchant wares with The Path to Love.  Watch for more details.

Fox and I hope that everyone’s start of their year is great and continues for the rest of the year.  We have lots of great product coming, including more SGC.  Till next time…

Jaffas invade Tiny TAMA: STARGATE tinies behind the Wheel!

tinytama-sgc-1

Tiny TAMA unveiled the beginning of its Stargate line and celebrated with the Stargate Chase Race that was held today in front of the TT stores in Morningshire. About a dozen tinies entered their Competition-model Needlethreader Death Gliders to test their skills by racing through five succeedingly smaller rings as they went around Morningshire. The course proved difficult not only because of the rings, but their placement at varying heights. The four winners were Imnada Waffle in fourth, Shady Fox in third, Alohalani Heron in second and Mitchmiester Slade who took the Jaffa Top Gun honors with his first place run of 1 min. and 27.904755 seconds. Congratulations to all who participated and thank you to all who came!

Probably the best part, though, was by Special Award winners, Karmagirl Avro and Sarah Irling. These two showed that it’s in spirit and fun that these things should all be done. Karmagirl, in her blingy Rhino, took a dramatic dunk in the sea and then recovered without her ship and ran all the way to the finish line. Sarah’s little pug tried and tried and SL swept her away, too. Their humor and good cheer in the face of such adversities made us laugh with them and love them. Bravo, ladies!

something wicked this way comes: it’s halloween time!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Ghoulishly good fun can be had with this animated sculpted pumpkin! The lid pops open and out sneak the charred bony fingers of a fiendish ghoul, propping the lid to survey the land for victims. Could it be YOU?!

This pumpkin animates on rezzing, and loops with a short peek and a bigger peek at intervals.

Available now at my Linji and Tiny TAMA stores.

Thank you to everyone who has come to see or has purchased from me at the Jewelry Expo! Today is the last day of the show and there are some cool things all over the place. Please come see me at my The Oh! Factor-booth 68.
