something wicked this way comes: it’s halloween time!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Ghoulishly good fun can be had with this animated sculpted pumpkin! The lid pops open and out sneak the charred bony fingers of a fiendish ghoul, propping the lid to survey the land for victims. Could it be YOU?!

This pumpkin animates on rezzing, and loops with a short peek and a bigger peek at intervals.

Available now at my Linji and Tiny TAMA stores.

Thank you to everyone who has come to see or has purchased from me at the Jewelry Expo! Today is the last day of the show and there are some cool things all over the place. Please come see me at my The Oh! Factor-booth 68.

a bauble for your thoughts: sl jewelry expo starts today

Come visit me at the show and say hello.

Ok, it’s been much too long…and all I can say is it’s been a really busy time. Feeble excuse, I know. Mea culpa! We had a great tiny Medieval Festival in September and are heading into Halloween, but we start off the month with a grand exposition of jewelry in Second Life. Miriel Enfield has done a great job organizing it and the rules were stringent, but hopefully will result in banishing the evils of lag which so plagued last year’s expo. Under my store, The Oh! Factor, I have my place near one of the corners at booth 68. One of the rules was textures could be no larger than 256×256. I am presenting the pieces I have at the Expo so that you, and anyone who clicks on my web page loader at the show, can see the work with more clarity. Thumbnails will take you to the larger versions. Hope to see you at the show!

I also have other jewelry which I’ve placed at a show price of 100L$ (regularly 250L$). There is also a charity, which is actually one of my favorites in RL, for which many of us have created or donated pieces to help raise funds. Mine is a new jewelry set called Dove of Peace.

Come enjoy the show. Shop till you drop may definitely be the mantra I keep hearing…so much to see…oooooooooo….SHINY!

bathing beauty: coming soon from tiny tama

Summertime blues mean happy times ahead for tinies! A stylin’ sarong style bikini, with an over-one-shoulder sheer wrap, includes a big straw hat with sculpted bow and a sculpted straw beach bag. There is also a pair of shades and I plan on sandals. Time for some fun in the sun!

‘an a rickshaw to pull ‘er by plus a new tiny tama location

Someone made a suggestion that we should make a rickshaw and night before last, I decided to try to put one together. Then I had to decide how it would be utilized. Could it be worn or should it be a vehicle. It would need a passenger, so as Fox and I discussed it, we both came to the logical conclusion that it would need to be a vehicle. I had gotten Jeffrey Heaton’s book, Scripting Recipes for Second Life (plus his other on LSL Scripting) in my attempt to learn more about how scripting works in SL. I often find that I can come up with some cool products only to come to full stop because I don’t have a script to accomplish what I need. Heaton provided some great examples and, even better, some physical examples at his sim in SL. Such was the case with his car scripts. However, mine wasn’t a car; mine was a rickshaw. The driver would actually be running and pulling the rickshaw. To the rescue, my friend, Pandora Wrigglesworth, gave me the capacity to put in the animations I needed and the llSleep in the right place to assist in making it “just right” for a tiny.

Vehicles must be 30 prims or under (the avatar being the 31st)…so…29 if you want two avatars on it. This is the rule with things that are physical which a vehicle becomes upon your sitting in it. I had to jiggle speed to slow down for an avatar running, who would be slower than a car. Physical things have some interesting things that can happen. At one point, when trying to set the sit target for the driver, I found myself catapulted with the rickshaw right off my work platform. Once it was working, sometimes it is difficult to get the vehicle to go over to high a step, a steep hill and fell over backwards as I learned how the vehicle worked.

Finally it did! I had found a really cute running animation which is a little more crazy hop like run that is hilarious to watch in action. Next, come races! I’m going to check about the possibility of it being utilized for some of the Tiny Olympics coming up. That would be fun! Will let everyone know.

In addition, Fox and I have put a new location for Tiny TAMA in the Raglan Shire Tree City Forest. We’re right on the way down to Extrovirtual.

starry, starry night: stellaa interviewed on when worlds collide

Cypress Rosewood interviews Stellaa Francis, who is a Brazilian singer of Japanese descent, speaking of the songs by Kitaro that she sings on her new album which she is debuting in Second Life on March 6th on Stella Island. There will be two shows; one at 5 PM SLT and the other at 7 PM SLT. Her music also debuts on iTunes and other music venues on the web that same day. She has a lovely voice and her avatar pales to her Audrey Hepburnish looks.

I have a bunch of new things I am working on. I saw a pic of a mushroom that curved similar to this and I thought, “that could be a seat”, so set about doing one in Modo. I happen to love mushrooms, whether eating them or making them. Such wonderful things, fungi….shapes, colors, textures…I love it all.

huntress: coming back to something put aside

Black Huntress

I had started this outfit last year and then had other things pull me away, but have decided this back into the work queue because I really loved the way it was coming out.  I have two skirts for it (so far a bell and a western bustle style) and a blouse with a hand-painted cameo.

Hand-painted cameo

The basic little jacket is quite alluring without the blouse as it offers a delightfully plunging neckline.  Cuffed sleeves sport fringe trim.  There will also be pants and boots.  The leather has a hand-drawn design which will be available in gold and in silver.  The leather will have a variety of colors as well.

Great for a Sunday Drive

Atop my sturdy little hummingbird. Still need to do the wing animation. I will teaching this for the set of Tinies classes we are doing at Mystical Mastery.

It’s hard to tell, with a red saddle and red fox, but there is indeed a seat there.  This little guy rides really well.  The keys are a bit sensitive and I’m learning I can steady her with a little left-right button movements, just like in a real car where there is a little jostle at times to keep the car steady on the road.  Gotta find out if I can get a burst of speed scripted like these little speed devils display in real life.

tiny hearts soar high

Tiny flying high

One of the things I enjoy being in Second Life is a TINY.  I am now a fox, foremost, but also have a bunny and an elephant.  We are knee-high to regular avatars, when we are tiny, and cute as the proverbial button.  Most are animals: tigers, otters, dogs, pigs.  Two legged, but there are also quadrapeds such as pegasus (guess that would be pegasi?).  Places, such as Raglan Shire, are made just for tinies.

 Little Zorros

Recently, I have begun to make things for tinies.  When Fox Obviate and I recently went to a themed party in Farhaven, we went wearing matching Zorro outifts.  For Christmas, I decided to make tiny versions of the outfits for our tiny foxes.

 Tiny Biplane

My next major project became a tiny interpretation of the Sopwith Camel.  There were things about physical objects (ones that, in Second Life, have the property of gravity) that came whopping me in the face to catch my attention.  I learned that the maximum number of prims you can have is 31.  I was able to get good advice from friends and though I now have the plane at 30 prims, plus my avatar counting as one, I should be able to shave off about 3 more prims and that will allow me to make a passenger seat. After dueling with the flying script (which is being changed because I actually had one designed for helicopter-like motions), I finally got the critter to fly….and I did…I soared.

I think I’m going to enjoy designing for tinies.

Chemins De Lumiere, gleaming silver

Chemins de Lumiere

Silver, and other metals, can gleam so nicely in Second Life. This all-prim set, has a lovely delicate pendant with tiny brilliant gems adorning the open-work design hanging from the graceful chain. The earrings echo the motif of the necklace and dangle stunningly below the earlobes for a striking addition to any outfit.

Available at all my stores, including Linji.
