games, faeries and a tiny night on the town

tt-160-skull-n-bones-game

Sometime ago, I asked a good friend of mine, Kenn Nilsson, if he could create a script for me to do some games at Tiny TAMA.  The game was incredibly fun and the tinies had a blast.  Kenn created the script to allow for creativity and variety.  The first time we played the game, we used an image of our ninja and hid it.  Now most things are physical pieces that you hide in a few different places.  The person finds it and claims their prize.  This game allowed the one gamepiece to rez in different locations, that I had designated beforehand, for varying times (3-5 seconds).  This meant everyone was searching everywhere for the next place it would pop up and try to be fast enough to click on it before it disappeared and went to its next location.  Each round gave a prize.

The second time we had a tiny sarcophagus with a fox mummy.  The tinies walked up, one by one, and touched the sarcophagus.  If the mummy was there, they had to click quickly because it, too, could possibly disappear before they did so.  Again, the game was a hit.

So Tiny TAMA and AeonVox have teamed up and have brought out the first game now available to the public.  The Skull ‘n’ Bones Treasure Hunt Game has three sculpted game pieces.  The skull ‘n’ bones is for hiding in smaller spaces (under bushes, behind things).  There is a chest filled with gold that can also be hidden.  Both of these items can be used to be stationary and be found by the guest or can be configured (through notecard) to appear and disappear for different intervals.  It can appear/disappear in the same spot or in different locations; much like the Ninja game we did.  The second chest is for a game like the mummy game described above.  The gold inside it appears and disappears.  Your guests click the chest to open it and see if they are quick enough to win.

The prize distribution has a number of alternatives to choose from.  Give one prize or a prize endlessly till you stop the game.  Give from a list of prizes, randomly, or give several prizes all at once.  You choose.  And look for more themed games coming soon!

Next, we have the first Spring Rose Fairy of the season.  Winter is ebbing and the flower faeries are making an appearance.  This little fairy has a beautiful, hand-painted gown with sweet ballet slippers.  She wears a trio of  sculpted roses on her head and has a sweet pair of rose petal wings.  The wings fluttter slowly when standing, a bit faster when walking, and beat at a sweet speed when flying.  In addition, when the fairy moves or flies, she leaves a trail of falling fairy dust.  Also, as a bonus, a flying/hovering animation is included with instructions on how you can add it to your Tinymatic AO or AO Lite.  This animation (by Japanese artist, asakouboo Yoshikawa) is SO cute!  On sale for 350L at Tiny TAMA.

Beautiful color-changing tiny evening gown.

Beautiful color-changing tiny evening gown.

And then there is Bella Notte.  An off-shoulder tiny gown scripted to change to just about any color.  It is also scripted to change size to accomodate different avatars.  A sculpted, stylized rose graces the shoulder and head.  A tiny scattering of custom particle stars falls from the head piece.

Coming up in Raglan, on the first of February and going through Valentine’s Day, we’re having another walk-through-the-shires to see the great merchant wares with The Path to Love.  Watch for more details.

Fox and I hope that everyone’s start of their year is great and continues for the rest of the year.  We have lots of great product coming, including more SGC.  Till next time…

Jaffas invade Tiny TAMA: STARGATE tinies behind the Wheel!

tinytama-sgc-1

Tiny TAMA unveiled the beginning of its Stargate line and celebrated with the Stargate Chase Race that was held today in front of the TT stores in Morningshire. About a dozen tinies entered their Competition-model Needlethreader Death Gliders to test their skills by racing through five succeedingly smaller rings as they went around Morningshire. The course proved difficult not only because of the rings, but their placement at varying heights. The four winners were Imnada Waffle in fourth, Shady Fox in third, Alohalani Heron in second and Mitchmiester Slade who took the Jaffa Top Gun honors with his first place run of 1 min. and 27.904755 seconds. Congratulations to all who participated and thank you to all who came!

Probably the best part, though, was by Special Award winners, Karmagirl Avro and Sarah Irling. These two showed that it’s in spirit and fun that these things should all be done. Karmagirl, in her blingy Rhino, took a dramatic dunk in the sea and then recovered without her ship and ran all the way to the finish line. Sarah’s little pug tried and tried and SL swept her away, too. Their humor and good cheer in the face of such adversities made us laugh with them and love them. Bravo, ladies!

something wicked this way comes: it’s halloween time!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Ghoulishly good fun can be had with this animated sculpted pumpkin! The lid pops open and out sneak the charred bony fingers of a fiendish ghoul, propping the lid to survey the land for victims. Could it be YOU?!

This pumpkin animates on rezzing, and loops with a short peek and a bigger peek at intervals.

Available now at my Linji and Tiny TAMA stores.

Thank you to everyone who has come to see or has purchased from me at the Jewelry Expo! Today is the last day of the show and there are some cool things all over the place. Please come see me at my The Oh! Factor-booth 68.

a bauble for your thoughts: sl jewelry expo starts today

Come visit me at the show and say hello.

Ok, it’s been much too long…and all I can say is it’s been a really busy time. Feeble excuse, I know. Mea culpa! We had a great tiny Medieval Festival in September and are heading into Halloween, but we start off the month with a grand exposition of jewelry in Second Life. Miriel Enfield has done a great job organizing it and the rules were stringent, but hopefully will result in banishing the evils of lag which so plagued last year’s expo. Under my store, The Oh! Factor, I have my place near one of the corners at booth 68. One of the rules was textures could be no larger than 256×256. I am presenting the pieces I have at the Expo so that you, and anyone who clicks on my web page loader at the show, can see the work with more clarity. Thumbnails will take you to the larger versions. Hope to see you at the show!

I also have other jewelry which I’ve placed at a show price of 100L$ (regularly 250L$). There is also a charity, which is actually one of my favorites in RL, for which many of us have created or donated pieces to help raise funds. Mine is a new jewelry set called Dove of Peace.

Come enjoy the show. Shop till you drop may definitely be the mantra I keep hearing…so much to see…oooooooooo….SHINY!

floating world pillows: pretty up your big or tiny world

Nothing quite says “home” like a bunch of beautiful, fluffy pillows on which to lie back on and luxuriate. On sale Friday, July 4th, these sculpted decorative pillows will sell for $100 per set and include a round pillow with “sit on” pose and a square one with “sit against” pose. Designs will vary. The sit against pose should allow you to sit against a wall, a log, or (for tinies and their short legs) comfortably in a chair. It’s always nice to have variety. Human and tiny versions included in the same set.

The Tiny TAMA newsletter is out. You can pick one up from our main store in Morning Shire or our new one in Raglan Shire. Offworld, you can view it from the web with Acrobat Reader. Remember, if you join the Eggrollment (in front of our main store), members receive a special Floating World pillow made just for them.

ninjas loose on raglan on july 5

Like a dark wave on the land, discernible yet obscure, there and yet not there…the NINJA descend on the shire on July 5th. Armed to the teeth (or would be if they ever showed them) with a katana, tanto, throwing star and nunchucks, the NINJAs are swathed in black bindings to conceal them while they perpetrate their dastardly doings. Get your NINJA on at Tiny TAMA on this Saturday, July 5th!

AND…to celebrate…Tiny TAMA is having a NINJA hunt! Think you’ve got the skills to find the hiding Ninja? One will hide that day at noon SLT and a second at 6 pm SLT. Find them and win a complete NINJA outfit.

gardens everyday: kimono teien and hakama mainichi

New at Tiny TAMA!: a kimono and hakama mini wardrobe with just a click on each outfit. These two clothing outfits are scripted to completely retexture into three different designs by clicking and choosing from the blue dialog box which pops up.

Also in the store is our first introduction to our landscaping line. We get many requests for low-prim things which is why we will be, later, be presenting a low-prim line of furniture. First, however, I’ve been playing with creating rock landscaping pieces that are as low prim as possible. One of the first things I tried was to create a walkway that could be done with just one sculpted prim and have any real texture detail. The result is a double row of walkway stones to edge the side of a walkway. The stones come as modify/copy to place anywhere you need them.

During the grand opening of our store, we gave all those who came by a copy of our Opening Day Kimono and Hakama. Both of these outfits will be available for purchase in the next day or so.

For those in our “Eggrollment”, a newsletter is going out and, along with the 4-seat Chinese Junk Sail-er, will come a new gift for our members,a tiny sculpted kimono on its own stand. If you’d like to be eligible for our gifts and receive our newsletter, just drop by Tiny TAMA and click on the small eggroll in the chinese delivery box, or IM Eleanora Newell or Fox Obviate and ask to be added. This group doesn’t require an SL group slot.

Did someone say “CHICKEN?”!

Some things are just too much fun!  Fox Obviate and I get ready to devour a chicken meal fit for a pair of ravenous little foxes while Vanilla Jessop looks on.  Fox had the chicken from a class.  He quickly set to work applying the textures, adding the carrots and peas and putting dinner on a big ole plate.  He made me and himself a huge fork and with a nice steaming chicken, we sat down in our tiny chairs and salivated.  Fox likes to call this Q&D, quick and dirty, but he’s really quite facile with these things and always displays a raucous sense of humor.  Thank you, Fox!. ~elfa and namaste

Four Little Tinies, All in a Row

Fox Obviate, head guardian at Mystical Mastery and Mystica, joins Shadow Marlin and myself in welcoming our new teacher, Willow Lundquist. We’re all tiny cause we love it, but here because we’re all teaching a series of Tiny Avatar classes.

One of the cool things about Second Life is the many folks who take the time to teach and help others. This was one of the things that first attracted me to Mystical Mastery. I wanted to learn everything….and I wanted to learn RIGHT NOW! Fortunately for me and others, there are many people who like to teach. Being able to see how things were done, I learned much more quickly.

I have also always loved to teach, too. When I was in high school, my favorite teacher, Lucille Hathaway, recognized this trait and made me an assistant teacher. When I was very little, my first language was actually Spanish because my grandmother and great aunt decided they did not want to speak English. I was never sure why they had made that choice, but they certainly knew more than they let on. I laugh, when I think back, on how they would catch me or my brother saying something and knowing just what we had said….the sneaks. I learned English when I went to school and it was decided that now knowing English, I could translate for them. So off I went everywhere with them, their own little Babblefish in tow. Over the years, I learned that I enjoyed showing others how to do things. I had a facility for it and genuinely loved others achieving something through my assistance. It was enriching and gratifying.

So when I came to Second Life, it was not surprising that I would find how to become a teacher here. The best way I know how to repay my many teachers is to pass on the teachings and hope that one of those I teach will turn and pass it on, too.

For this special series of classes, specially designed for tinies, we have hummingbird riders, a cool little vehicle called a Sky Doo, furniture, and a pot-bellied stove and eentsie kettle, and much more. Join us for the fun in Mystical Mastery starting this month.
