something wicked this way comes: it’s halloween time!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Scary sounds and animation make for a howling good time this halloween!

Ghoulishly good fun can be had with this animated sculpted pumpkin! The lid pops open and out sneak the charred bony fingers of a fiendish ghoul, propping the lid to survey the land for victims. Could it be YOU?!

This pumpkin animates on rezzing, and loops with a short peek and a bigger peek at intervals.

Available now at my Linji and Tiny TAMA stores.

Thank you to everyone who has come to see or has purchased from me at the Jewelry Expo! Today is the last day of the show and there are some cool things all over the place. Please come see me at my The Oh! Factor-booth 68.

a bauble for your thoughts: sl jewelry expo starts today

Come visit me at the show and say hello.

Ok, it’s been much too long…and all I can say is it’s been a really busy time. Feeble excuse, I know. Mea culpa! We had a great tiny Medieval Festival in September and are heading into Halloween, but we start off the month with a grand exposition of jewelry in Second Life. Miriel Enfield has done a great job organizing it and the rules were stringent, but hopefully will result in banishing the evils of lag which so plagued last year’s expo. Under my store, The Oh! Factor, I have my place near one of the corners at booth 68. One of the rules was textures could be no larger than 256×256. I am presenting the pieces I have at the Expo so that you, and anyone who clicks on my web page loader at the show, can see the work with more clarity. Thumbnails will take you to the larger versions. Hope to see you at the show!

I also have other jewelry which I’ve placed at a show price of 100L$ (regularly 250L$). There is also a charity, which is actually one of my favorites in RL, for which many of us have created or donated pieces to help raise funds. Mine is a new jewelry set called Dove of Peace.

Come enjoy the show. Shop till you drop may definitely be the mantra I keep hearing…so much to see…oooooooooo….SHINY!

huntress: coming back to something put aside

Black Huntress

I had started this outfit last year and then had other things pull me away, but have decided this back into the work queue because I really loved the way it was coming out.  I have two skirts for it (so far a bell and a western bustle style) and a blouse with a hand-painted cameo.

Hand-painted cameo

The basic little jacket is quite alluring without the blouse as it offers a delightfully plunging neckline.  Cuffed sleeves sport fringe trim.  There will also be pants and boots.  The leather has a hand-drawn design which will be available in gold and in silver.  The leather will have a variety of colors as well.

Rose du Jour, color your world, any color you want

This was my first full-scripted item and I was so pleased with the way it came out.  The roses have slight variations from petal to petal and stunningly adorn in a semi-circle halo of blossoms and buds.  You can get almost any color by clicking on the garland and using the Blue Dialog box.  Using Hue (the color), Saturation (how deep or muted the color) and Value (how light or dark), you click until you find the color you want.    The reset button takes it back to its default pink. With copy permissions, you can save a garland to match every outfit in your wardrobe.

Rose du Jour is 350L and available at all my stores, including Linji.

Joyeux Gown, a vision in periwinkle

Joyeux

This ensemble offers a variety of ways to wear it. It has two sets of sleeves, one of which features a large, soft, sculpted pleating and the other a smaller sculpt with flowing sheer panels. Gilded lace adorns the edges of the sleeves and gown hem. Glitch pants, with a gilded pattern, can be worn under or alone with a matching open-midriff jacket. The gown has a beautiful handmade lace over-pattern on the sheer fabric above the silk periwinkle underskirt.

A marvelous enhancement is the addition of starry particles, visible best at night, that turn on and off by touching the skirt.

Available at all my stores, including Linji.

Wings of Love -not your ordinary silks

Wings of Love Promo
Wings of Love Breastplate
This still remains one of my favorite pieces.  I love the look of silks and really had fun playing with this trying to work with a peacock feather as the base for the texture and working with the flexi prims to have just enough stiffness to give the illusion of feathers while maintaining enough suppleness to move nicely.  It is prim-intensive, but adds a regal touch to the female form.  There is a flurry of panels accenting the backside to give that tail-feather look.  The jewels, on the breast and pelvic plates, are fashioned to make a stylized birds head with a spray of beads to make its tail fan.  Wings of Love is 595L and is available at all my stores including at all my stores including Linji.  As we head into the NEW YEAR, I am excited at all the prospects that lay ahead and look back with gratitude for all that was given me, especially the love and support of my friends and loved ones.  My one resolution is to do better than i have, to better who I am and to better what I can for those around me.

The Oh! Factor presents “Adagio”

Adagio in Amethyst

This beautiful gown is rich and moves luxuriously. Dramatic opera sleeves and simpler, elegant medieval style sleeves come with this gown as well as a matching underskirt. The bodice is bordered in an embossed gold design and handmade lace trim the more ornate sleeves.

Available in jewel-tones of Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Citrine, Peridot, Sapphire, Aquamarine and Topaz, this gown has proven to be a venerable favorite among my customers.  575L at all my stores including Linji.  Hope Santa brings you all you wished for with a good dose of peace and happiness for us all.

UPDATE  Adagio has been featured in Around the Grid with Harper, a wonderful blog by Harper Ganesvoort. Thank you, Harper!

“O brave new world, That has such people in’t!”

Heartbeat of the mother while her children sing and dance at Mystical Land of the First People in Mystica. Welcome!Just another blog, but it’s mine, all mine! And you can’t have it, but I hope that you’ll read it from time to time. So, who am I?This blog is more about me, as Eleanora Newell, in Second Life than as me, Cris Palomino, in First Life. Dragged, kicking and screaming, into Second Life, this is actually my third try at it and this time it stuck (no Heloise Hints for that stain removal; I think it’s permanent!I have a line of stores, The Oh! Factor with two specialty stores, Cotte to Perfection and By the Sea and Stars.I make a variety of things and will be showing new things as well as showing other pieces from my lines since they have never been showcased through a blog.Color-changing sculpted hibiscus flowers. My first offering is my sculpted hibiscus flowers. These are sculpted in Modo, hand-textured in Photoshop and have been scripted to change color with Hue/Saturation/Value. You can match just about any color. With the flowers being given with copy permissions, this means you can save a set that have been colored to coordinate your favorite outfit. The holidays are nearing and I wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday in whichever way you celebrate, but most of all, may you be surrounded by love and know true peace.
